Here is a side by side comparison of how The New York Times has profiled Michael Brown — an 18 year old black boy gunned down by police — and how they profiled Ted Bundy, one of the most prolific serial killers of all time.

im SO SICK of hearing about how feminism “helps men” i don’t care why do they need to be reassured that they will benefit from it before they can support us fighting for basic human rights and liberation

Except Feminism doesn’t actually benefit men in any way.

CultureHISTORY: Tommie Smith and John Carlos, Olympics 1968

“We were just human beings who saw a need to bring attention to the inequality in our country.” - Tommie Smith

On this date (10/16) in 1968, the ‘black power’ salute at the Summer Olympics in Mexico City. One of my favorite historical photos and one of the most powerful moments in black history. More background here.

Yo, so i’m an accountant (we’re totally as boring and lame as you think) in New Zealand, and our professional institute just sent out the results of it’s remuneration review of it’s members.
Pretty much it was swell, we’re all make heaps of money whilst poverty and inequality is rife in our country. But let’s put that aside for another day. I want to point out the pay gap between genders. Even the institute, which is run by the oldest, whitest dudes you’ll ever see, was shocked by the gender inequality in pay. It’s fucked. Look at that statistic; a gap as large as $47k.
If you don’t think your peen (and while we’re at it, white skin) is providing you with privilege that women and people of colour will never have, you’re a fucking idiot.
Here’s the full survey insight (it’s pretty dull reading tbh)
